ELECTION COUNTDOWN NOVEMBER 3

RE-ELECT

ROB SAEMANN

FOR HERMOSA BEACH CITY COUNCIL 2026

REAL EXPERIENCE MATTERS

The next four years present a complex set of challenges for Hermosa. In this short video, Rob discusses his unique experience, and explains why it matters now more than ever.

WHY I’M RUNNING FOR RE-ELECTION

In over fifty years as a contractor, I've learned that you can't fake experience. And you can't build something lasting without understanding what came before.

I’ve owned and operated two businesses here in Hermosa and devoted 14 years to public service.

I hope to earn your vote for another four-year term as your Councilmember. It’s a crucial four years for Hermosa, and I am the only candidate standing in this election that has the combination of real-world business, construction and budget experience. I am the only candidate or current councilmember who has served on the Public Works Commission, the Planning Commission and on City Council. I understand land use and planning issues and how they relate to construction.

Experience like this really matters, and it’s exactly what Hermosa Beach needs right now, more than ever.

We face real infrastructure challenges and we have tough budget negotiations ahead. We need someone who understands not just the numbers, but the bones of this city. Someone who knows how to build things right.

More than that, we need someone who understands what makes Hermosa special—the people, the culture, the character that draws us here. I've been part of this community for years. I know what we're trying to protect, and what we need to improve.

That's why I'm running for re-election. Hermosa deserves a leader with real experience, deep roots, and the practical know-how to tackle what's ahead.

I’m standing again to use my experience for good of the town that has given me so much. In return I pledge to work hard for residents and local businesses, to use all that experience to make their lives better and to make taxpayers’ money go further.

One more promise. I will give back every cent that I would make from my council salary over the next four years to local city projects and good causes. Please reach out to me if you would like to know more.

Meet Rob SAEMANN

It started with a summer trip in 1963.

I was 15 years old, a freshman at a new high school. Friends invited me to check out Hermosa Beach. I went body surfing, hung out by the pier, explored downtown, and discovered this magical place we all call home.

That day changed everything.

I grew up inland, but I visited Hermosa many times over the next few years. "This place is so cool," I kept thinking. "I want to live here someday." I honestly didn't think it would happen. But it was my dream.

A few years later, I met Katie—an amazing woman who shared that same dream. We married, and I built a career as a contractor, working in several beach communities before finally landing back in Hermosa for good.

It’s been the honor of my life to serve as your Councilmember and as the Mayor of the magical place that I discovered all those years ago. Click below to find out more about me and my work for our city.
