ON-TIME, ON-BUDGET
For too long in Hermosa, important city projects suffered from delays and budget overruns. The Clark Building sat empty for years - a renovation that stalled and drained resources. Infrastructure projects languished. Maintenance fell behind.
Since first elected, and then as Mayor, I've brought the discipline of a 50-year construction career to city management. We've held staff and contractors accountable. We are now completing projects on schedule and within budget. The Clark Building is now reopened and serving our community. We resurfaced nearly two miles of streets last year, repaired critical sewer lines, and completed the Parking Lot C renovation, all on track.
Hermosa's taxpayers deserve a government that delivers results, respects budgets, and completes what it starts. That's what I'm committed to.

PUBLIC SAFETY
A safe community is a thriving community. Last year saw a reduction in crime in Hermosa, and that trend has thankfully continued into 2026. I held a public safety forum during my recent term as Mayor, and I listened to the community concerns, many of which were about enforcement.
I want to see a focus on enforcement of existing laws, especially related to public nuisance offenses, in response to your concerns. I will continue my campaign for e-bike licensing, using my position as board director of South Bay Cities Council of Governments to lobby regionally and at State level.

LOCAL CONTROL
Hermosa Beach works best when we make our own decisions. From e-bike enforcement to housing policy, Sacramento and Los Angeles County shouldn't simply dictate what's right for our community. I'm fighting to protect local control, and I'll use my position on the South Bay Cities Council of Governments to amplify our voice on issues that matter.
I voted against the previous council’s decision to opt every household in the city in to the most expensive energy tier from the ‘Clean Power Alliance’. I think that should have been an individual decision for you to make, especially as it increased your energy costs at a time when household budgets are under pressure. I will work to amend this decision, to reduce those costs, and to ensure that the next city council does not overreach into your individual and property rights.

THOUGHTFUL DEVELOPMENT
Hermosa Beach is special because of who we are, not despite it. We must preserve what makes this community unique while being smart enough to embrace development that strengthens us.
That means preventing the unrealistic high-rise projects that would fundamentally change our character. But it also means being open to thoughtful projects that can invigorate our Downtown, create gathering spaces, and bring new vitality to our community.
Here's why: strategic development creates new revenue sources. That revenue funds infrastructure maintenance, public safety, and services our residents depend on. Without it, we're forced to choose between raising taxes or letting our city deteriorate.
The key is balance. We streamline permitting for projects that make sense. We say no to development that doesn't. We support business owners and entrepreneurs while protecting the neighborhoods and character that make Hermosa home. And we ensure that growth serves the community, not the other way around.
That's thoughtful development - preserving our past while building our future. I am the only candidate with construction, planning, land use and real world budget experience. That really matters as we look forward to the next four years.

SAVING THE PIER
The Hermosa Pier is right at the heart of our local community. It needs significant investment to repair and to ultimately rebuild it during the next decade. The planning for that needs to start now, and to be underpinned by smart spending in the rest of our capital projects. I believe that my experience in construction and cost management is essential to the next council’s ability to tackle Project Pier.
